Full list of Schemes under Modi’s Regime for your Exam

We will discuss some recent schemes/yojana under BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) Govt led by Prime minister Narendra Modi’s regime. The schemes are given below with short details. Some of his schemes are for poors, insurance, entrepreneurs, some for girls/women and some for pensioners or senior citizens. 1. Government launches mission aimed at turning rural areas into economically, socially and physically sustainable spaces

Short detail: Prime minister launched the ambitious Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban (rural-urban) Mission from Chhattisgarh’s Dongargarh block, which aims to draw an investment of over Rs 5,000 crore in three years to "transform rural areas to economically, socially and physically sustainable spaces

2. Health minister launches National Deworming initiative

Short detail: Ministry had first launched National Deworming Day (NDD) in 2015 which was implemented in 11 States/UTs across all Government and Government-aided schools and Anganwadi centres targeting children aged 1 to 19 years. The deworming initiative was implemented in 277 districts and 9.49 lakh frontline workers were trained for NDD 2015.

3.  Project Sunrise in Manipur

Short detail: Project Sunrise is a five-year programme aimed at complementing the ongoing National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) which is to primarily improve coverage, quality and scale of HIV interventions among People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) in eight North East States.

4. Stand up India scheme: to promote entrepreneurship among SC/ST and Women

Short detail: Start up India Stand up India" initiative was announced by the Prime Minister in his address to the nation on 15th August, 2015. The Stand up India component is anchored by Department of Financial Services (DFS) to encourage greenfield enterprises by SC/ST and Women entrepreneurs. Read more.

5. National Skill Development Mission: Assessment

Short details: The National Skill Development Mission will provide a strong institutional framework at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country.

6. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Short details: Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is inspired by the vision of transformational change in rural development processes by leveraging knowledge institutions to help build the architecture of an Inclusive India. Their mission is conceptualised as a movement to enable processes that connect institutes of higher education with local communities to address the development challenges of rural India through participatory processes and appropriate technologies for accelerating sustainable growth.

7. Housing for All by 2022 Mission-National Mission for Urban Housing

Short details: The Union Cabinet gave its approval for launch of “Housing for All by 2022” aimed for urban areas with following components/options to States/Union Territories and cities.

8. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yoiana

Short details: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by the Prime Minister has given its approval to the “Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana” (PMKSY). It will have an outlay of Rs. 50,000 crore over a period of five years (2015-16 to 2019-20). The allocation for the current financial year is Rs. 5300 crore.

9. Atal  Pension Yojana

Short details: Fixed pension for the subscribers ranging between Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000, if he joins and contributes between the age of 18 years and 40 years. The contribution levels would vary and would be low if subscriber joins early and increase if he joins late.

10. Pharma Jan Samadhan Scheme (PJSS)

Short details: It is a web enabled system for redressal of consumers; grievances relating to pricing and availability of medicines, created by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA).

11. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti BimaYojana & Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana

Short details: The scheme will be a one year cover, renewable from year to year, Insurance Scheme offering life insurance cover for death due to any reason. The scheme would be offered / administered through LIC and other Life Insurance companies willing to offer the product on similar terms with necessary approvals and tie ups with Banks for this purpose. Participating banks will be free to engage any such life insurance company for implementing the scheme for their subscribers

12. Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation and Smart Cities Mission

Short details: In a determined bid to recast the urban landscape of the country to make urban areas more livable and inclusive besides driving the economic growth, the Union Cabinet approved Central Government spending of about one lakh crore on urban development under two new urban missions over the next five years. The Cabinet has approved the Smart Cities Mission and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation of 500 cities (AMRUT) with outlays of Rs.48,000 crore and Rs.50,000 crore respectively.

13. Mission INDRADHANUSH

Short details: The Mission Indradhanush, depicting seven colours of the rainbow, aims to cover all those children by 2020 who are either unvaccinated, or are partially vaccinated against seven vaccine preventable diseases which include diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis

14. Jan Aushadhi Scheme

Short details: For fulfilment of affordable medicine, a campaign in the name of ‘Jan Aushadhi Campaign’ has been launched.  The aim of this campaign is to make available quality medicines at affordable prices for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged. Under this campaign, less priced quality unbranded generic medicines will be made available through Jan Aushadhi stores which inherently are less priced but are of same and equivalent quality, efficacy and safety as compared to branded generic medicines.

15. Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)

Short details: The new scheme of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), recently approved by the Union Government draws its inspiration from the similar pioneering scheme implemented by the Government of Gujarat. This scheme will enable to initiate much awaited reforms in the rural areas. It focuses on feeder separation (rural households & agricultural) and strengthening of sub-transmission & distribution infrastructure including metering at all levels in rural areas. This will help in providing round the clock power to rural households and adequate power to agricultural consumers .The earlier scheme for rural electrification viz. Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) has been subsumed in the new scheme as its rural electrification component.

16. PaHaL Scheme for Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG Subsidy

Short details: LPG being an essential commodity, its supply and distribution has been regulated by various regulations to control the trade and illegal diversion. However, the prevention of such activities has at best been minimal, primarily due to the large scale of the LPG supply chain. Over 16 crore households use it for cooking purposes at highly subsidized rates. To prevent this diversion PaHaL Scheme for Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG Subsidy was launched. 17. Sukanya Samridhi Yojana

Short details: Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme is a small deposit scheme for girl child, as part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, which would fetch yearly interest rate of 9.1 per cent and provide income tax deduction Under section 80C of the Income Tax Act,1961. It is a scheme with the vision to provide for Girl Child Education and Her Marriage Expense. The scheme was launched in January 2015. Read more

18. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Campaign

Short details: The girl child’s discrimination is rampant in India, it runs across all caste, creeds and religion etc. It manifests itself in various forms. Discrimination with the girl begins even before her birth in the form of female foeticide and continues afte the birth. Read more

20. Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY)

Short details: cheme was launched on the birth anniversary of Jai Prakash Narayan ( 11th October, 2014), As part of scheme each MP will adopt a village every year for all-round development using the programmes of the Centre and states, aided by his constituency development funds. Read more

Short details: Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna (PMJDY), an ambitious programme on Financial Inclusion to cover about 7.5 crore unbanked households in the country was launched e by the Prime Minister on. 28th August, 2014. Read more
